Every Tuesday and Thursday throughout the summer, Afternoon Tea is served in the historic salon. Step back in time with this tradition, set in a room that has welcomed distinguished guests for over a century.
Local flavors and homemade delicacies are served alongside a selection of fine teas — and a glass of something sparkling, if you wish.
The Afternoon Tea unfolds over four tiers, taking you on a journey from savory to sweet — from delicate sandwiches to buttery scones, seasonal pastries, and handcrafted petit fours. Head chef Anette Myrhagen and our pastry chef Eleftheria Petraki have curated a menu that reflects the seasons, using local ingredients and homemade touches throughout.
At the center of the table stands a tower of treats. Each tiered stand is crafted just nearby, in our neighboring village, by JES Redesign — thoughtfully assembled from vintage porcelain in timeless blue tones.

Afternoon Tea dates back to the 1840s, and it’s easy to imagine how distinguished guests once enjoyed a refined afternoon in these very rooms. Delicacies have been served here to the likes of Queen Maud and young Prince Olav—and now, it’s your turn.
Our Afternoon Tea offers a taste of Union Øye, blending local character with timeless flavors and traditional techniques — inviting you to forget time and place, if only for a moment.
